Upgrade Windows 11 – What you need to know

On Oktober 5th 2021, Microsoft released its newest software Windows 11. After initially saying Windows 10 would be the final version, the recently skyrocking demands due to the gobal pandemic, prompted Windows to update its operating system. Upgrade to Windows 11 with XEOX now!

After a beta release during the summer, Windows 11 is now available for every Windows 10 client. Although the official release was stated as October 5th, it can take several months for everyone to receive the upgrade. But no worries, XEOX is already prepared and capable of installing the upgrade on all your clients. 

Functions and Differences

A better look with a modern design and app icons reminiscent of a smartphone or tablet . Microsoft has also moved the start menu to the middle. This can be changed again if users prefer the original position on the edge. Also, there’s now the Snap tool, which lets you regroup and rearrange multiple windows to make multitasking easier.

Weather and news updates are now displayed in the widget bar. The Teams application is also preinstalled on Windows 11. Contact can be made via chat, text, voice and video. It is also possible to reach people who do not have teams on their computers.

What cannot be seen at first glance: the new operating system is supposed to be faster and work more energy-efficiently. In the future, system updates should be loaded in the background and be significantly smaller than before.

The cost

Windows 11 will be a free upgrade but only for users whose computers are running the latest version of Windows 10 can upgrade to the new operating system. And: Minimum hardware specifications apply to Windows 11.

Can I undo an upgrade to Windows 11?

Support documents from Microsoft and Lenovo indicate that the upgrade allows a 10-day trial period. You can undo the upgrade at any time within these 10 days. After that, you can only return to Windows 10 by reinstalling it.

Requirements for Windows 11:

According to Microsoft, Windows 11 requires a 64-bit processor with two or more cores and a clock frequency of 1 gigahertz. The main memory must be 4 gigabytes in size and the device memory must have at least 64 gigabytes of storage space. You also require a DirectX 12 compatible graphics card and an HD display of at least 9 inches. The table clearly lists the minimum requirements.
