Information about updates:

  • Windows 10 updates are cumulative. The monthly security update includes all security updates for vulnerabilities that affect Windows 10, in addition to non-security updates.   • Microsoft improves Windows release notes. You can find more information at What’s next for Windows release notes.
  • For a listing of the latest SSU (Servicing Stack Updates) for the various operating systems, see ADV990001. This list is updated as soon as a new SSU is released. It is essential to install the latest SSU.
  • In addition to the security changes for the vulnerabilities, updates include Defense-in-Depth updates to improve security-related features.

  • Customers running Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2008 must purchase the Extended Security Update to continue receiving security updates. For more information, see 4522133.
